Dr. Michael Todd Shipley
Dr. Michael Todd Shipley, 41, of Huntersville, died Monday, May 24, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville. He was born on June 12, 1968 in Worchester, MA to John Michael Shipley (of Sterling, MA) and Cynthia Pappas Shipley (of Clinton, MA).
Dr. Shipley earned a bachelors of science degree from Central Connecticut State University in 1991 and a doctor of chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic (Davenport, IA) in 1997. After graduating from Palmer College Dr. Shipley completed his postdoctoral studies in rehabilitation and is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board (DACRB). Before entering Palmer College he was the head offensive line coach and team strength and conditioning coordinator for Central Connecticut State University. Dr. Shipley was a faculty clinician, a rehabilitation resident, taught active care rehabilitation and rehabilitation procedures and was the clinic sports council doctor for the athletic teams at Palmer College of Chiropractic (Davenport). Dr. Shipley has been in private practice since 1997.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Anna Bystedt Rosenlind; daughter, Mackenzie Shipley (age 8); and brother Jamison Shipley of Fitchburg, MA.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Friday, May 28, 2010 in the chapel of Raymer Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC with Rev. Vern Dodd officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
