Mr. Douglas Johnson, LAT, ATC, EES, CLS |
Douglas Johnson, ATC, EES, CLS, is a certified athletic trainer with over 13 years of clinical/industrial experience. He attended Wayne State University and The University of Detroit-Mercy where he earned a Summa Cum Laude Bachelors of Science degree in Sports Medicine in 1994. He has worked extensively in the field of Industrial Rehabilitation as the Assistant Regional Physical Therapy Director of Concentra Medical Centers Michigan Operations and as the therapy director of PrimeCare Medical Centers before beginning his practice with his partner in 1996. Johnson is the co-owner of Sports and Industrial Rehab (www.sportsandindustrialrehab.com) and founder of the Laser Center of Michigan.
Working extensively with phototherapy technology including the TerraQuant MQ2000, MedX Phototherapy Treatment System, Quantum Warp 10 (NASA), ML830, PowerLaser 500, DuoLight 830 and the Solaris, he has been featured on FOX2 Healthworks, UPN50 Healthwatch, CBS WMEN5 Healthwatch, and ABC WXYZ7 Health Team Reports and articles that have appeared in NATA News, The Heritage Newspaper and The Detroit News. He is the many laser therapy articles including Low Level Laser Therapy in the Treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (published in Athletic Therapy Today), Guiding Light (Advance for Rehabilitation Managers) and Phototherapy Applications in Sports Medicine (Practical Pain Management). Mr. Johnson currently teaches Phototherapy Level I throughout North America and has been the invited speaker at 2007 World Congress of Physical Therapy, Indiana State Chiropractors Association and Midwest Podiatry.
While researching the effects of low intensity laser on athletic performance, he is writing an extensive protocol manual and a new phototherapy text. Recently, Douglas was recognized as an expert in the field of phototherapy by NAALT (The North American Association for Laser Therapy) and named to Multi Radiance Medical’s Advisory Board.
